I have a sealed can of Norma 205 and am lookin for BOOK loads in 30-06 and 338 Win. I have a few in Speer #8 and Hornady #2. Any body out there have a NORMA book willing to post some loads?

Thanks for the link but Norma discontinued 205 and there are no loads listed for it.

I have that can in the collection already. Go to the cartridge collecting forum and click on mounting cartridges, there is a picture of both collections there. If you want it back I will bring it in. I have gobs of 2400 so if you need it --best you have it. Thanks

Norma 205 was replaced by MRP, but don't assume equivalence. MRP is similar to Re22. Start lower than recommended for Re22 and work up.

BOB HAGEL used Norma 205 in his 06 with 180 and 200 gn noslers, his loads are in his book, but are a touch on the warm side , but in a 24 inch tube you can get 2850 with the 180 nosler and a touch over 2700 with the 200 gn nosler, and your pressures will be under 65,000 psi and case life will be long!! its a touch slower than norma MRP
have a look at my pressur data with norma MRP and that should give you a good idea where to start and where to stop

I have an original Norma reloading manual from the 1960s, which matches your can of powder. They do not list many 205 loads for the .30-06, and only two N205 loads for the .338 I've used a lot of loads from this manual, and I assure you they are as hot as the factory Norma ammo of the time, which means hot! Email me for a copy.

Would you be interested in selling that sealed can of N205? Its a tad slow for the .30-06 and .338 but is perfect for the .25-06 and 7mm Mag.

Got your pm Wasilla, couldn't reply directly for some reason. These are the only loads listed so they are maximum recommended loads. I have edited my original post to include the pressure data from the same Norma manual. Hope it helps. Might add that years ago when I was using Norma 205 using Norma data for 308 Norma Mag in Norma cases I was happy to get 4 reloads before the primer pockets had expanded to uselessness. Norma brass did have a reputation for softness though. Accurate and reached expected velocities though.

MCA MAN thats a 1957 manual .ken waters says 338 win 225 hornady 75.0 2,768 3,34 oal best accuracy w/ 225g. 250g 72.0 n205. he doesnt show n205 with 3006.
