Brass ID help {270}
I recently aquired a bunch of 270 brass and in the lot was a bag of brass with Frontier as the headstamp. Who makes this and is it quality brass that is able to be reloaded?? Also there were a few cases with nny as the headstamp. Who makes this and is it any good??
Thanks
Jeff

Hornady makes Frontier, it is excellent brass. I am not sure about the other.

IIRC NNY is Privi Partazan (spell check) from one of the former Soviet Union countries

Didn't Federal used to call their rifle ammo "Frontier"?

frontier is hornady brass. HOWEVER, they used to outsource from rem and win before they started making their own. But I beleive the brass they are now making is better than any of the older outsourced versions. IIRC it is headstamped hornady now when being made by hornady.

It is hard to keep up with the borders surrounding Prvi Partizan (headstamped nny).

My latest box of PPU (aka Prvi Partizan) .303 British and 7.64 X53 Mauser is marked "Made in Serbia."

Frontier headstamped brass, marketed as Hornady ammunition, was made in the Winchester mill, if conventional wisdom is to be believed. It is as reloadable as anything from Win, Rem, or Fed.
