chuckslayerH-380 Powder
Anyone here use H-380 for the 22-250? I will be using 50gr bullets, and how does it perform.

Bob338Originally it was THE powder for the 22-250. Reason it was designated with that number was that 38g produced 3800fps with the 50g bullet. It works well.

vapodogI like ball powders for the small varmint cases like the 22-250 and H-380 is as good as it gets. I like H-414 better but that's a personal thing.

DekeH380 and the 22-250 has been the easiest load development of any rifle I have hand loaded for. I used the Speer 52HPFB load right out of the Speer manual (R-P brass, 42grH380, CCI250MagPrimer, 2.350"OAL) that was developed using a Rem700 and shot back to back 3rd groups of 1.875" and 1.950" @ 260yrds, sitting, off my shooting sticks with my Rem700ADL. Needless to say, it made me a believer.

JLRMy best load for the 22-250 is 36.5 gr. H380 behind a 50 gr. Hornady v max. This recipe prints 1.5 in. at 200 yds., and less than 1 in at 100. Rifle is Savage 12 with bull barrel. Coyotes beware!!!!!

MarmontHunterI must agree, H380 is the ticket for me and my .22-250, which is a Savage 12BVSS. Best yet group is a .286 @100 yards, most of them averaging in the .4-.5's. Varget is a another choice, which is good, but usually increases my groups to 1". Not bad for a factory gun!

ole_270H380 works in several of my rifles, but don't use it much anymore as it's so dirty burning. Never tried the magnum primers yet, that might help.
