Vectan powders by Nobelsport anyone?

Just wondering whether anyone here's using Vectan powders manufctured in France by Nobelsport?

I guess the Europeans are more likely than the Americans on this one.

So far I've been using 41gn of Vectan SP7 to propel 180gn fmjs in my Lee Enfield .303 Brit. It appears to behave very similarly to H380.

I think SP7 is close to H4895.

Tu 5000 is close to H380.

For your .303 british you can also use Tu3000.

I have one of the reloading manuals from Nobel, but I've yet to see their powders in any of our local shops (or any of the not so local ones, for that matter). Wouldn't mind trying them out though. - Dan

That's a good start

I've just picked up some TU2000 and TU3000 - I have plans to try both with 55gn V-Max in .22/250, TU3000 with 150gn game loads, 143gn fmjs and 168gn bthps in .308 and TU2000 with 180gn bthps in .308 - oh yes and TU3000 with 180gn sps and fmj in .303 Brit.

Now, where's that reloading manual

For information, Vectan powders sell in the UK at ï¿½16.95-ish per half kilo (that's about 25.42$US) compared with:
Alliant ï¿½16.50-ï¿½19.25 per 1lb
Vit ï¿½38.25-ï¿½41.50 per 2lb
Hodgdon ï¿½13.00-ï¿½28.75 per 1lb
IMR ï¿½18.50 per 1lb
Winchester ï¿½19.75 per 1lb

For those not blessed with English pound weights, there are 2.2lb per kilo. Anything which enables me to shoot more quality loads for my money gets my vote!
