What is "the powder" for the 375 H&H?
I'm just starting to reload for my new 375 and certain powders have a history of great performance in certain cartridges, like H380 in the 22-250, 4895 in the 30.06 etc. So, What is the go-to powder for the 375 H&H?

I have IMR 4064, 4350, 4831 and 3031 in the cabinet along with some BLC(2) that will fit this cartridge but I'm not adverse to buying others if needed.

Any suggestions guys?

Not pretending to be an expert but 25.0-27.0 of IMR 4064 with 300 SAF worked great in my rifle. Perhaps not the fastest but very accurate and easy recoiling. If memory serves me, RL 15 was consistently the second best for me. Best of luck with your search.

78 gr. of IMR 4350 gives me 2755 fps into thumbnail sized groups with a 300 gr Nosler PT. That was the first load I ever tried in Lily Martel and quickly decided that since it worked (and does it ever!) I wasn't going to change. Haven't either.

I am having pretty good luck with RL15. My MAX loads are

270gr. Hornady soft (#3715) 76gr. RL15
300gr. Hornady soft (#3720) 72gr. Rl15

I generally use a grain less for each load (above)
and 2 grains less for the 300gr. Hornady "solids" (#37277)

The above is using Winchester brass and Fed. 215 primers

I use IMR-4350 in mine with a 300 grain bullet (Sierra) and a Remington 9-1/2 primer.

10 years ago I saved a chart from American Hunter titled "suggested first-choice propellants". For the 375H&H it lists imr4064, imr4350 & rel 19. I don't have a 375 so I can't personaly verify these powders. Also alot of good powders have been developed in the last 10 years.

H4350. Used in compressed loads with 270 and 300 grain bullets in the .375 H&H, it gives highest velocity with excellent accuracy.

Sorry, right now I'm looking at loading the 260 grain Nosler partitions for pigs and the 270 grain Hornady spire points for paper and ground squirrels (practice).

Especially since you are leaning to the lighter for caliber choices, then lean also to the faster for cartridge powders, such as My choice IMR 4064, or the R15, or possibly the Varget offering, also the Vita Vourhi (SP?) line has the #135, and 140 which could do extremely well. There are more cjoices than you will ever shoot in this fine round. But you will have much pleasure in the process.
