I have a friend who just asked me about a suppressed rifle in 308 win. He wondered if it was possible to make your own subsonic loads with commercially available powders, without experiencing erratic pressure and bullet-tumbling in a standard rifle?? Anyone with experience in this??

The guys at Tactical Ordnance build some remarkable suppressors and also load some sub sonic .308 ammo which is quite accurate. I've seen it in action, and the sound reduction is remarkable.

Both Sako and Lapua has subsonic loads on their program. I suggest you drop any of them a E-mail and asks about the load or reloading data.
