What's the conversion factor to get psi from the tons per square inch the British use? Yeah, I know, this is pathetic--but all my reference books are at home! boohoo Thanks.

Mathamaticly for example 14 tons is the standard for double rifles thus 2000 Lbs being one ton x 14 = 28,000 lbs per square inch and thats close enough for Govt. work.

Weren't the Brits using the imperial ton? Is that correct?

1 imperial ton = 2240 lbs
(called a long ton in the US)

So in Rays example, it would be 14 x 2,240 for 31,360 psi
