I need estimated Feet Per Second
Okay guys I won't have a new chronograph for weeks and I need some estimates from you experts on what a certain load and barrel length will produce, please no wild ass guesses just good solid estimates please. I've done the math now you give it a try and this will see if I'm close, thanks

Here's the facts:
.284 Speer bullet 130 grain Spitzer Boat Tail
36 grains of H4895 in a .284 Winchester cartridge, rifle is a Ruger flatbolt 22" barrel.
Thanks for your help.

If you meant 46 gr. then Hodgdon #26 lists 2894 fps for that load. If you really mean 36 gr., then QL suggests 2277 fps.

Not to be a smart ass, but any vel. someone gives that's not from your rifle will be a WAG. This is as good an estimate as you will get: beer

My chronograph has shown that the velocities produced in the rifles that I have tested have varied by up to 200fps from those listed in loading manuals, even with the same barrel lengths.

Thanks guys and yes I do realize that there can be an enormous velocity spread from gun to gun, but I wanted the best estimate just so I have a place to start thinking from. I did some math in my head and some on the calculator and came up with just under 2,300 fps. So the first poster (Popenman) was neck and neck with my estimate.
Thanks to all
