bartscheA down side to down loading
This is offered as a heads up.

Mod. 200 Stevens with a 7.62 X 41 Shaw light 24" barrel, 22.5gr Acc 2015, #34 primer,Reformed RP. .257 cases.
110 gr carbine bullet, oal=2.140", 1613 to 1657 fps.too mild , a lot of Unburned Powder, accuracy not great.
150gr. Berrey plated bullet, oal= 2.300", 1590 to 1649 Fps. not bad but a lot of Unburned Powder.
It was with some surprise that the reduced load of 2015 didn't burn very well, yet the velocity spread wasn't that great. The unburned power when it gets into the action did present a slightly difficult, mushy bolt closing and later a real need to get the action just aft of the barrel clean.
In order to get the needed 1700 to 1850 fps. for the Berrey plated bullet a faster, cleaner burning powder like Blue Dot or #9 Accurate is really more advantageous.
