LJRivard6.5mm Hornaday A max
I have a Swede M38 which is supurbly accurate with the 140 gr Hornaday A max. Has anybody tried this bullet on Deer? I have limited it's use to paper targets, but am thinking of trying it for hunting.

390ishI have shot three deer with the 140 A MAX in a steyr 6.5x55 sbs. Works well on deer. Big exit holes and no forward motion from the target, usually have deer jump straight up in the air then expire. I bought a bunch of midsouth blemish projectiles about 4 years ago and love them.

LJRivardThanks 390ish, that's just what I was hoping to hear.

Paul from nzIve had good luck with 162gr A-maxs. normally they just fall over where they are standing. I've heard they work well under 100 yards and 600yards + aim inline with the front leg or just in front of it to drop them on the spot. if you shoot behind the front leg they will probably travel 20-30 yards then fall over

SLSShot a lot of deer with the 162 out of my 7mmrem. From 50 yards to 529 yards so far with complete confidence. None have made it more than a few steps.
