.204Ruger not registering on cronograph?!?
I have an Oehler 35P which I was using today with two rifles; a 6PPC with it was reading just fine and a .204Ruger which it could not read. I know it's fast but c'mon? what's the deal?
The sky was a bit overcast but it didn't give any problems with the 6PPC giving the velocities I'd expected.

Anyone got a clue?

If sky is overcast, remove the orange diffuser. The orange diffuser helps only if the sun is shining directly on the diffuser.

Make sure shots are centered above the skyscreen.

The "sweet spot" is approximately 4 inches above the skyscreen housing; trying to get closer may result in bullet holes in the skyscreens.

Guess that trumps it!

Welcome Ken, and thanks for the great products which have taken up as much time as my beloved wife!

Sure. Just shoot about 2" lower.

If it doesn't read, keep going down and "eventually" you will not have to worry about it. Big Grin

Best of luck to the Chronograph!

I don't know if I should post this or not, but a couple years ago my chrono didn't work (has a remote readout) and after several shots reading "error" it was pointed out that I had the sensors turned around so I was shooting through it backwards!

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

Mark,

You actually admit doing that?

I've done it myself more than once or twice.

How do you convince a customer on that phone that he may have also been guilty?

clap Glad to see I wasn't the only one. Was at the range last week to do some checking. Fired several rds and got an error. Waited to the break and move the unit from shade to sun. Still error. Waited moved it a third time. was just about out of test ammo and noticed it was backwards. homer Worked great when I turned it around.

Wink
When the batteries get weak on my ProChono I will start to get blank registers on some shots.
