would the Berger 95gr VLD 514 BC J4 make a good hunting bullet?
I shot a couple coyotes with this bullet, and it worked great.
Iam thinking about using it on WV. deer.
Rifle is a 243 40* AI chamber 24" velocity is 3110f/s.

Should kill every deer you shoot in the proper spot.

Rifling twist will have an effect.

Im going dig it out of the moth balls and give it a try.
Its a 243AI with a 40* 1:10 barrel its same as the Bob Reynolds AI.
It shoot 95gr burgers in same hole at 300 yrds. best I could on the 1000yr was 10 to 12 ". Im going to sight it in at 200 yrds should be able to get a good broad side shot longest shot from my stand is 250yrd Ill wait for a closer shot.

If you shoot in the same hole at 300, why wait for a shot on deer less than 250?

Bergers are known to be somewhat fragile/explosive. They are designed for peak performance at longer distances.... but everything is about bullet placement.

I'd take a close or far shot with that load especially since you're in a stand and can get a solid rest (hope I'm not reading too much into the stand)

Have fun.

This stand would test my skills as a shooter.

Three deer in the bottom by the hay bales are about 150yrs
Across to the face of the knob is roughly 300 yrd across the pond in the swell is about 200 yrds.
