6PPC 85 gr sierra HPBT's
does anyone have any load data for using 85 gr sierrea HPBT's in a 6 PPC? my rifle has a 1:12 twist and i want to see how it does with a little heavier bullet. thanks.....bud

This is a timely question! This weekend I tried 55, 70, 85 and 100gr Sierras in my 6mm PPC. It is a short Ruger stainless 77MkII with a Krieger varmint wt bbl, timney trigger topped with a 6-24X50 Swift. At 100yds, the 55gr "Blitz King" bullets would yield a .25in 5 shot group. The 75's would open up to .75in. The 85's and 100's were not even on the paper. I tried them at 25 yds and found they were keyholing. I think the Kreiger has a twist of 1:14, but I have not checked it. Bob
