cobrajetDampened beam scales or not?
I've been reading some of the topics here and I've heard several times of folks voicing their disdain for magnetically dampened beam scales. Just curious as to why they dislike these and what are the options as far as balance beam scales are concerned? Thanks!

duikermanI like magnetically dampened beam scales. There are also oil dampened which work fine too.

My Redding has a damping vain and oil resevoir and it has never been put to use as such. JMHO but the damping isn't needed.

enfieldsparesRCBS 304 if still available. Although, truth to tell, they warrant no more or less accuracy than their 505 model!
