Anyone used these on game, from either the .30-30 or other cartridges?
I'm curious how good penetration is. One rule of thumb I've seen in print (Barsness) is that penetration of X bullets is about that of conventional bullets weighing 1.2 times as much, or in this case a 180 gn .308 bullet. My thoughts were on its use in a .300 Sav conversion for a 336 Marlin, say 2550 fps.

buckeyeshooterI loaded the Barnes 150 XFN for my nephew last fall for use in his 30-30. He had a 10 yard shot at a buck entering a corn field. He placed his shot at the juncture of the neck and shot as the buck moved at him. The bullet exited the buck out of the left ham. Complete stem to stern penetration. The buck dropped instantly at the shot. Upon dressing the deer, the internals were devestated, heart, lungs and intestines all destroyed.

Terry BlauwkampHave loaded the 150 XFN in the 308 Win and 300 Savage. Sure does a number on Deer. Always exit with devestation internally.
