Orange1948Lee collet next sizing issue
What am I doing wrong? My Lee collet die is dragging when I am using it and is messing the shoulder up... Almost a double radius like on a Weatherby. I am trying to reload my 6.5 Swede for the third time.
Should read " I am trying to reload my Lapua 6.5 Swede brass for the third time."

Orange1948Looked there earlier. Can't find or must have missed the remedy.

Fury01You are trying to resize it too "much" with the die. Back it off a 1/4 turn until the problem stops. However: Problem can come from the shoulder moving toward the neck while firing and needing to be bumped back because what is happening in the Lee Collet die is your pushing down on the shoulder and causing the bulge. Done it myself once on 35 Whelen. Figured it out and problem no more. When the collet sized brass doesn't fit the rifle any longer, I bump the shoulder back a bit with my FL resize die. Until then I just collet size just enough to hold a cast bullet firmly enough so that it won't move back out in the seating die. I crimp the amount I want with a Lee Factory Crimp die at the end of the case. Works great.

Fury01Glad to help. What kind of rifle is your 6.5 in?
