T300WbyMagWinchester Large Rifle Magnum primers
Just wondered if anyone has tried Winchesters Large Rifle Magnum primers? I have read that they are suppose to be hotter that Federal 215's and should give a little more increase in velocity than the 215's...
ThankYou!!!!!

BER007I used these primers for my hot loads in .444 Marlin and .458 Win Mag. Great powder burning, nothing else to add. Hopr that can help you. IMHO.

<OKShooter>The WLRM does appear to be a hotter primer than Federal's 215, but you are not likely to obtain significantly higher velocity.
An example of this is with a 180 gr. Hornady SP in W-W '06 cases with 62 grs. H4831SC. The standard WLR primer produced 2660 fps @ 54,600 psi. The Federal 210 produced 2669 fps @ 54,500 psi. The WLRM primer produced 2705 fps @ 57,700 psi. The Federal 215 produced 2676 fps @ 54,900 psi.
In other words, an increase of some 2,700 psi (5%) results in an increase of less than 30 fps (1%).

KuduKingI luv WLRMs. Have used them in all my large magnum cases (except the .300 WSM... regular WLR). Reliable.

<Bill T>I've used them in my big Weatherbys, .338-378 and .460 with very good results. I have also used them in .375 H&H and .416 Rigby as well. They are every bit as good as Federal 215's. Bill T.
