MJinesIMR4350/H4350
I realize that the two powders are not identical. As best I can tell from my research, IMR4350 is a bit faster than H4350. That said, if you have a load expressed in H4350 that you want to convert to an equivalent IMR4350 load or vice versa, how would one do that?
Specifically, I am trying to find out what an equivalent load would be in H4350 for 95 grains of IMR4350. Thoughts?

DoublessI have found that you can use IMR 4350 load data to load H4350, but not the opposite. And even Accurate Arms 4350 is different. One of their ballisticians told me a few years ago that their powder was a grain slower than IMR 4350... I found that to be absolutely correct.
And different lots of the same powder can vary a bit.
I would start at about 92 grains of H4350 and work up slowly. Good luck!

vapodogcontact Hodgdens and ask them....they are distributor of both of these powders.

fredj338I have also found H4350 to be just a bit slower. There is no conversion factor because each cartridge responds diff. to each powder. What cart. are you loading for w/ 95gr???

MJines.500/.416 NE.
African Hunting Info lists a load for the .500/.416 NE with a 400 grain bullet of 91 grains of H4350. Someone else gave me a .500/.416 load for a 400 grain bullet of 95 grains of IMR4350. I am trying to see how the two compare.

fredj338I figured as much, only thing holding that much med. powder must be a .416rigby or sim. I would drop 2gr & work back up. They are very close in burn rate. You might want to give RL19 a try. I have been using it in my .404jeffery w/ great results under 380-400gr bullets. It's a bit slower than IMR4831.

MJinesThey actually say that RL22 works well with the .500/.416. I just wish there was more available loading data for the cartridge, it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
