URGENT! NEED 300 RUM BALLISTICS ! ! !
I'm in a real bind!

I am leaving for Wyoming and Colorado (for moose & elk) in a few hours and I just now realized that I don't have the ballistics for my new 300 Rem. Ultra mag using factory ammo.

Does anyone have them at their fingertips? Or perhaps could you refer me to another site?

I'm using factory 180 gr. Noslers in a 26" barrel. Presently I'm sighted 1 3/4 inches high at 100 yds.

Any tables for any zero would do fine - if possible to 500 yds.

Your immediate help is greatly appreciated!

Herb D,

You don't say whether those are ballistic tips or partitions. Nosler make 3 different 30 cal bullets in this weight.

Anyhow, I will make some assumptions. I will guess that you are using partition spitzers, and the MV is 3100 fps.

This is what the Nosler manual gives for that combination:

zero 100 200 300 400 500
range
100 0.0 1.3 3.4 5.8 8.5
200 -2.7 0.0 4.1 8.8 14.3
300 -10.1 -6.1 0.0 7.2 15.4
400 -23.0 -17.7 -9.5 0.0 11.0
500 -45.2 -35.8 -25.6 -13.7 0.0

Hope that's some help.

Good hunting!

How long have you known that you needed this information?

Ricciardelli,
Good question! Just for your information, I have been out of touch for 3 months (in a cabin in the woods with no electricity and no phone therefore no computer). There I did test fire my newly rechambered 7mm & 375 Ultra Mags in Ruger #1s and found them lacking in accuracy. So!
I had to purchase something that might give me better groups. Therefore, I purchased a 300 Rem Ultra Mag but could not get ballistic information until I returned to civilization a couple of days ago to repack and head out for Wyoming and Colorado.

Not making excuses but two tin cans and a string don't cut it anymore.

Shutting down the computer and off to WY & CO within minutes.
