Have you tried Huntingtons? I would call them to make sure they have them in stock before ordering.

If you can find Horneber, I'd buy buy them before Bertram. You might try asking in the Nitroexpress classifieds forum, as well as AR classifieds. Huntingtons might be able to get some Horneber for you.

FISH!!

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

Got the last box of 20 from
Huntington's last week. I also found
60 rounds of RWS loaded ammo.
So am set for now.

Where did you find the RWS ammo? Have you tried chambering an empty case? I had to resize them before they would chamber in my rifle.

Just an fyi... Woodleigh's latest loading manual has data for the 10.75x68 using 347 gr and 400 gr bullets.

That's a good find, do they chamber okay as another poster has asked? I use RWS brass in my 404J but eventually started to lose the odd case to neck splitting so now anneal the older cases regularly. I still have some new RWS cases but as they are approaching 30 years old I will anneal these before using.

If your RWS ammo is old it could be worthwhile pulling the bullets and annealing the necks but if you fire off a few without problems then anneal your cases after the first firing. It is possible to anneal with live primers, I have never done it but some have. Can't water cool but could use a cooling fan setup to take the heat out of the cases after annealing. Of course you could decap the live primers and reuse them, have done this safely often enough.

I have a Lothar Walther CM .423-14",Ø=1.26", L=26.18", #5130 "Mauser Type E" 26" w/System98 thread, cut down to 24". The muzzle is .626 (.626 - .423 / 2 = .1015 wall thickness). I had the barrel threaded for a Mauser action, if you're interested. $300.00 shipped
