ledvm.375 H&H load w/ 300 gr Northforks softs and solids
Fixing to work up a load for 300 gr NF solids and softs in Norma brass. Hopefully R-15 will be liked as I have a bunch.
Anybody load these in the .375 H&H and have a load? Was planning to start at 68-70 grains of R-15 and go from there.
Have heard some folks use Large Rifle primers in the H&H instead of LR magnum primers...any thoughts there while discussing?

30.06kingLane,
My recipes for Northfork.
Brass: Norma, Primer: Federal 215 Magnum, Propellant: Reloder 15
North Fork SS 300 gn
RL15 68.00 gns Av. Velocity 2497 fps
North Fork Cup Point Solid 300 gn
RL15 66.20 gns Av. Velocity 2440 fps
This is with my Blaser R93, barrel about 25 inches. Both loads group closely at 100 yds.
Personally, I prefer Barnes TSX 300 gn overall but North Forks are actually very good. I found excellent straight penetration ( Buff ) with the Cup Point Solid.

30.06kingMy pleasure sir.
I meant to add the twist rate of my Blaser barrel is 1:12
I've worked up good loads for my .375 H&H quite easily. I think the calibre easy to satisfy and RL15 seems a natural fit as well.
Best of luck.

Gale JohnsonI used about 65 gr RL15 in Hornady brass, give or take, I think 70 will be to much? Fed 215 primer, excellent accuracy and low sd's No need to hot rod , they smash the animals at lower speeds

AtkinsonIve found the 375 H&H kills better with a 300 gr. bullet at a reduced velocity of 2400 to 2500 FPS/\..Max loads at 2650 FPS are hard on bullets even the monolithics start losing wings..Im also fond of the 350 gr. Woodleighs at 2400 plus a bit with RL-15, for instance.
