Okay, somebody please school me as I'm very new to the reloading game:
What dies do you need to form a flanged 30-06 from 9.3x74R?? Do you need a special case forming die or just use the regular full length size die?? Die and shell holder numbers would be GREATLY appreciated!!
I have a RCBS Rock Chucker supreme single stage press. Thanks!!
Ps. its for making a flanged .30-06 double rifle.

SR4759First check the head diameter to see if it is the right diameter in front of the rim. If it is ok I would scrounge up a few dies and proceed roughly as follows. This is to illustrate the method and you may find other dies work just as well.
1. Push the shoulder back with a .35 Whelen die or a .358 Win die (do not push the shoulder back too far). You could substitute a 9.3X57 or 9X57 for this die.
2. Same with an 8mmX06 or 8X57 (be careful with the shoulder)
3. .30-06 FL die.
Trim to length.
Anneal the neck down to about .250 below the neck.

Andre MertensIt would be simpler to rechamber in .30 Blaser, for which factory ammo is available.

Nordic2Buy a 30r blaser, 9,3*74r brass is for lower pressure than 3006.
9,3*74r is a perfect ds caliber as it is.
