Doctor DVVN550
Anyone using N550 in the .30-06?
V Vs data shows over 3,100 fps with a 150 grain bullet.
What will it get to from a 22" barrel and how is the accuracy?

crashcarruthersI use VV powders a lot, you will get somewhere around 3000 to 3050 ft/sec out of a 22" barrel, maybe. It will partially depend on how tight your barrel is chambered. I like VV powders, because they are consistent and burn clean. I have found that the single base N100's will give a higher velocity than the double base 500's. The double base 500's are suppose to be less temperature fincky. Try the N150 also and I think you will be suprised. The only sure way to know what your load and gun are doing is to use a chronograph to check it.

shootawayI used vit powders for that caliber and posted here.I think 550 would be the best.I could not get my hands on it back then and did not try it.

amamnnIt seems like the N500 series powders work best for the heavier bullets in the various calibers and the N100 series better for the light bullets.
You can get Vihtavuori's recommendations on their website and also a burn rate chart that makes sense!!

Doctor DOkay, I bought a pound of N150 today and ordered some 150 grain Nosler Accubonds.
I'll post up the results in a few weeks.
