Accurate powder
Does anyone know where Accurate Powders (specifically AA 2230) is "MANUFACTURED"?

Israel? Chech (sp?) Republic?

I don't know with any certainty, so don't put any stock in this, but I have heard Accurate powders are manufactured in China.

And I am not knocking Accurate Powders. I love AA4350.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

The Propellant Profiles column in Handloader No. 263 (12/09) states that, beginning in 2009, Western Powders, i.e., Accurate, began to obtain all of their extruded powders from the General Dynamics facility in Ontario, Canada. That doesn't answer the 2230 question, but I would ask Accurate; lacking other authoritative sources, that's the most credible source I can think of. The answer to your question is going to depend on when it was made, so a lot number will be needed. You may get an answer from Western Powders similar to the response I got from Hodgdon about some older IMR powder mfg. dates- "we don't have all that old IMR information, just the recent stuff". Good luck.

I have driven past them in Miles City on a few occasions. Wonder what they are doing in there if they aren't making powder?

I don't think Accurate ever produced a ounce of powder. Merely took it outa bulk and packaged it for commercial sale.

If the fence is way far from the buildings, then it is probably some super secret decoder ring stuff like Area 51 in Nevada. Either that or they just need to keep folks back some distance in case someone takes their smoke break in the magazines or repackaging bldg.

They were located in the middle of a big piece of property here in TN also for the same reason. Did the new owner buy out all of the products they were handling, or did she buy only the smokeless powder lines?

I would be delighted to inquire as to where their powder's country of origin is .
