XMP-5744 - reduced loads for rifles
I'm still trying to find an accurate mid power load for .30-06. Has anyone tried XMR-5744 in that size case? I'm trying to get around 2400 fps with 110 - 130 grain bullets with the least amount of powder possible (to keep barrel heating down when target shooting). I've tried Alliant 2400 and it's not accurate in my gun.

I found some good loads with IMR4895 and H414 that are accurate and light recoiling, but they still burn a lot of powder (47 & 55 gr).

Also curious if anyone has done similar expiriments in .243.

I tried one of the loads in the Speer manual once -- I think it was with a 110-gr. bullet. Very accurate, I think around 1700 fps., but a dirty burner -- lots of loose ash and residue in the barrel.
