Any loads for a Rem Mod.7 in 7mm-08?
I did a search on this and found quite a few loads for the 7mm-08.

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS...

Does anyone have a Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08 who has a good load that I can use as a starting point.

The one I have is a stainless synthetic beast.

Cheers, call me lazy.

Had a M7 in 7mm 08 some years ago. As I recall, that rifle liked a max load of Hodgdon H335 and a 145 gr. Speer spitzer. More recently, I have a short-barrelled Browning in the same caliber that shoots very well with 40.2 gr IMR 3031 and a 140 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip. I imagine that Varget or its ADI equivalent should also do well in the 7mm o8.

Ol` Joe
Try 40 - 42 gr Varget under a 139 gr Hornady for whitetail. It worked well in my M7 and M700. IMR4350 with the 140 gr Nosler BT gave better accuracy (not much)but vel was a bit lower.

Though not an M7, my Browning w/ factory 20" barrel likes 47.7gr W760, 145gr Speer GS & 140gr Rem pspcl, WLR primer, Rem case.

I'll second that of Ol Joe and Bruce that Varget and the 139 Hornady is an excellent combo, I've reloaded for a friend using 40.5grs. 91/2 primer, and Rem. brass, 1/2moa group at 100yds. with the first 3 shots, RE15 will work as well, but start at 39.5 grs. up to 41, Jay

Every moderately slow powder I've tried in my 2 7mmX08's has worked well. They include WW760, AA4350, H414, and H380. The only thing I absolutely do not vary is the bullet. The Hornady 139 grain SP and this cartridge just about define the perfect whitetail round. Since they're all I hunt, I've never had the need to search for a better bullet (that goes for my 7X57's, too). I now almost exclusively stick with WW760.

millsie67;
I have used my M7 7mm-08 since 1985 and the first bullet I tried was the Hornady 139 grain Spire Point! I don't remember the powder charge though, but it worked!
I have tried all bullet weights except 175gr!

I don't know for how many years now, but now, the only load that I use is as follows:

Bullet: 139 grain Hornady Spire Point!
Powder: 45.0 grains of Accurate Arms, Magnum Rifle Powder (3100)!
Primer: Remington 9 1/2!
Case: Remington (R-P)

I beleive that the 7mm-08 is at it's best with the 139 grain Hornady Spire Point!

Good Shootin'

Some years ago I had a Rem7 Kevlar, it liked 43.5 gr W760 and 139gr Hornadys. It loved 41.5gr IMR4064 with the 140gr Nosler flat-base.The most accurate paper punching load I found, and the most effective on wallabys was 53r W760 and the Sierra 87gr.
