Search didn't uncover my specific needs. But, my load for years was 5.5 gr. Unique, 357 brass, 150-158 gr cast swc, standard primer, 860 fps; 4 in barrel.

Can anyone provide chrono information for:

1. 5.9gr Unique, for 125 gr plated and 150-160 gr cast bullets, same components as before.
2. 5.2gr. Universal, same components.
3. 5.7gr. Universal, same components.
and
4. Suggestions for loads using Speer (what I have) .360 ball/357 brass/std primer. ??? gr. Unique, Universal or a similar speed powder? No Bullseye, please!
Thank you

Loaddata.com says, start 5.8 gr, 6.3 gr max.

From Speer #12, 158 gn cast SWC 5.5 grains Unique for 970 fps to max load 6.0 for 1034 fps.

For the 125 grain jacketed bullets 8.6 grains Unique for 1259 fps, max load 9.6 grains for 1343 fps.

No data listed for Universal powder. If you have other powders or bullet weights let me know.

I long ago settled on 5.4 grains of unique as a general "apply anywhere" load for ALL 9mm and larger pistol cartridges

38spl, 357Mag 44Spl, 44Mag (soft cast bullet) or 45ACP load, because it also works with 4.7gr of red dot in one of my Dillon powder measures without the need to adjust anything.

In this case as I explained to a friend I can load basically any Alliant flake propellant in any of the cartridge I load and be safe...

I am sorry but you need to go buy your own.

That is the only way you well know for sure what your firearms are doing.

All depends on what one is trying to accomplish with ones reloading's.

Sam, having just done a great deal of research to load (4) different 38 spl, I would STRONGLY advise you to do your own research. There are ALOT of variables in loading for/the 38 spl.
