IMR4350 in a 22-250 Rem
Anybody ever shoot IMR 4350 in a 22-250? I have some that I want to try, so I loaded a few up last night, but haven't shot them yet. Boy, it fills the case up quite a bit. Max is a compressed load. Just wondering what I can expect and if there were any success stories out there.

It is my choice of powder with 60 grain bullets:
IMR-4350 From 34.5 grains to 40.5 grains
Remington 9-1/2 Primer

Unfortunately, I'm limited to the 50gr bullets because of my 1/14 twist. How did the 50's do with it?

Gives good accuracy in all 3 or my 22/250s.

I just went to faster powders ( RL 7 is my favorite followed by 4198/either one). Don't have to deal with compressed loads etc.

Velocity is just as good if not better and less powder means more loads per pound, which is important to me in a varmint caliber.

Also Jethro, I have shot 60 and 63 grain bullets in my 1 in 14 twist 22/250 and they worked just fine. Sierra is the 63 grainers. A 70 grain Speer SSP also worked just fine with the 1 in 14 twist. 68, 69, grain HP tho will keyhole at 25 yrds out of the same barrels tho. The Semi Spitzer of the 63 and 70 grainers make them easier to stabilize.

40g of IMR4350 behind either the 50 grain ballistic tip or the 55g V-max are the most accurate loads in my rifle. They shoot anyhwere from .150 to .250 3 shot groups at 100 yards.

With 50's I found:

IMR-3031 From 28.4 grains to 35.6 grains
Remington 9-1/2 Primer

to be "best"...
