I was at the range yesterday and tried 5 different powders VVN560,Win760,H4831,IMR4350,RE22 and two bullet weights 75gr v-max and 95 gr partitions. I did four shot groups with each combo and even as I worked up potential loads the Win 760 was best with both weights. I was surprised when I was getting ragged hole groups with the paritions. What I would like to know is if it is worth to try the H414 because it may be less sensative to temperature? Also most manuals of my data shows it can be loaded faster with lower Pressures?? Or are they the same and don't bother??

Most will tell you H414 and W760 are the same, but they're not. H414 is a tad slower than 760, I suppose from the difference in deterrents. I've had luck in some cases with one powder where the other wouldn't shoot worth a hoot, so they are both worth a try.

I am under the impression that WW 760 and H-414 are manufactured to the same chemical and physical specifications. They will vary from one-another in the same way as two different lots of the same powder may vary. I suspect that with five different lots of each powder, you would find some of each faster and slower. In other words, if you switch from WW 760 to H-414, it would be the "luck of the draw" as to which powder performed better for you.

I would pick the powder that was available the cheapest and get several pounds from the same lot.
