LEE MICROMETER SEATING STEM
Just bought and used a Lee stem and for the $18.00+ that I paid for it, it worked great.

Installed it in a Lee .300 WM seating die and used to make 6 seating depth dummy rounds for my 7mm RM

Easy to install, use, was accurate and very easy to read.

I have the older Hornady one and at times it is hard to read for my aged eyes.

So far great tool at a great price.

Just have to see if things are repeatable.

I agree, they work great. They were on sale at MidwayUSA last month for $19.09 so I bought three of them. I used them on my 6mm ARC, 270 Win and 350 Legend because that's what I had Lee dies for.

(They're $19.29 there, now)

Can these stems replace the standard, non- micrometer plugs in the Lee seaters ?
Is it as simply a matter of unscrewing one and screwing in the other ?

Yes, use the standard stem---just screw in the micrometer. I will probably be using mine (which I have installed in the Lee .300WM seater) on .270W, 7mmRM, .30-06 8/06AI, 338-06,.338wm AND 9.3x62.
Installed in a LEE shorter seating die it could be used in any of the .308 based cartridges as well as the Creedmoores and others.

Grant,

As Hipshoot said "Yes", it's dead simple.

Take out the regular seating stem and screw in the micrometer head. On one of my dies the scale faced backwards but I just screwed the die body in a bit to get the scale visible.

Thanks for posting this. I read it yesterday, did a little reading on them and ordered 2 of them.

I guess that since I have a birthday this week, their price was $14.01. Big Grin

As said turn the seating die in or out to get the scale facing you,

Even if you make up dummy oal rounds like I do you are making things a lot easier and faster by just turning the stem and as I said can be used for multiple cartridges.

CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP!
