Still trying to find a load to beat my H4350 and 180 NBT, so I loaded up 5 sets of 3 the other day, 3 with VN560 and 2 with H4350 as a control.

Firing the first 2 VN560 loads (70.0 and 70.5 grains) gave be beautiful vertical trails (can't call it a group!) about 2 inches tall by .25" wide! Thinking I must have a scope problem, I run through the H4350 load #1 (64.5 Gr), .75" wide triangle group.

On to VN560, 71.0 grains, another vertical trail 2.5" tall, about .15" wide.

Final H4350 load, 65 gr., .65", uniform triangular group. Nope, not the scope of rifle!

What The Heck!?!? At 100 yards velocity variation to explain 2.5" vertical spread is beyond my ability to believe. Any theories?

I worked with H4350, H4831 sc, RL19 and RL22... H4350 was best in two different rifles so I gave up on any more experimentation. I have heard Ramshot "Hunter" powder is about the same as H4350 in terms of burn rate and temp stability. VV are expensive and scarce around here...

I don't shoot the 180's in my browning 300wsm but shoot the 150 gr.I tested the N560 using them and you can see how it shot for me with the 150 sst.
Have a friend that has a tikka and he shoots the 180's and has good luck and small groups using R-22 and w-760 in it.
