50 Beowulf loads
Just wondering what if any, loads guys are haveing good luck with. All the stuff that came with the dies works for me but I am wanting to load some of the new Barnes bullets in it or maybe the 500 grain hornady's.
Anyone got any ideas?

These loads are MAX pressure! So work up to them!

The only load I had any luck with was 34gr of IMR4227 and either a 420gr or 440 gr hard cast plain base bullet (flat point large metplat). They chronographed around 1400 fps IIRC.

For what it is worth I sold mine as my 12 ga held 8 rounds (the Beowulf will go 10 rounds in a SA80 30 round mag) and it easily outperformed the Beowulf with sabot ammunition (385gr at 1900 fps). The Beowulf with the 16" barrel, will run about 250 fps to 300 fps below the advertised ballistics (which were optimistically achieved with a 24" barrel).

Good luck and be safe, work up to the max load.

I have no experience with the .50 Beowulf but am wanting to get the 6.5 Grendel.

You might want to ask over at the 6.5 Grendel board, they might have some good information. Bill Alexander is over there some, as is Arne of Competetion Shooting Sports.
