W760 and Hornady 165gr BTSP
I've been working on a load for my M70 30-06 using 165 BTSPs and IMR 4350 with good success but was wondering how well some Winchester 760 would do? The only problem is I dont have any relaoding data for W760 and 165 grain bullets .. anyone have the data handy?

Thanks,
Steve

I use the data for H-414 in my 30-06 when I use WW-760

Start down about 6-7 grains and work up as with any powder/load

Hodgdon #26 lists 55.0 gr WW760 with a 165 gr. bullet in the '06, for 2829 fps in a 26" barrel.

Winchester lists 54.6 gr. with a 165 gr. Failsafe, 2690 fps, 53,300 psi (pretty tame). You can download the data on their website.

I used to use IMR4350 with Nosler BT 165's. They shot ok, but they really shined with W760. I worked up to 56grs which Nosler lists as the max charge. I am also using Remington brass, and a WLR primer with no pressure signs. Out of my 30'06 with a 22" barrel I am getting 2850-2900fps.

Thanks all, I'll start working up a load from 51gr. and see how that performs.

dogcatcher223,
Glad to hear the W760 can show some good results.

W-760 From 46.2 grains to 59.5 grains

But I would stick with the 4350...
