IMR3031 or Varget in .500 A2?

Hi there,

Has anybody used 3031 or Varget in the .500 A2? I'm looking to create some practice ammo with 525 gr hard-cast bullets that moves about 1800-1900 fps. Ideally, I'd like to know roughly where the max charge would be as a sanity check, even if I'm nowhere near max.

In my 500 Jeffrey I've used 100 gr of Varget under a 535 gr cast bullet for 2200 fps. Your A2 should be running slightly faster due to the smaller case. I don't know that I'd want to try much less than 80 gr, but it should be in your velocity ball park.

For grins, try 25-30 gr of Unique, should be around 1000-1100 fps.
