Loading the .280 Flanged NE..
Have any of you ever loaded for this round..?

I have a double with an extra set of barrels in this calibre..

Perhaps load-data for .280 Ross might be useful..?

The bore may well be .287" and not .284". The 280 Flanged (280 Lancaster) is loaded to lower velocities than the 280 Ross.

I have no experience with this cartridge and cannot suggest a load. However, I have found a reference in my library.

You can get .287 bullets from Woodleigh and also from Hawk, if I remember correctly...

Does Graeme Wright's book not have the info?

Thanks all....Naki, Graeme Wright do not list any modern loads for the .280, at least not in my 2nd edition....only the old loads with NC powder.

In the 'Sporter' section there's usually a couple of threads on reloading the 280 Ross.

The 280 Lancaster is the rimmed version of the 280 Ross & I'm lead to believe is loaded to less velocity then the 280 Ross,,,but it may give you some useful info.
