Re: Hornady SST Questions
I have not shot the bullet you speak of but as has been stated by others here, VARGET would be my choice of propellants! More than likely I would use 56,56.5,57.0.57.5 for the formative loads. Then when all is said and done, I'll bet the 57.0 grains of VARGET wins out!!! VARGET and the SAUM's seems to be a natural!! But then again, VARGET and a whole bunch of cartridges seems to be a natural!!! Most amazing propellant since IMR3031!! Even more amazing than 3031!!! And I thought I'd never see something more perfect for more chamberings than 3031......WRONG!!! GHD

Thanks for checking! I've sent email to Hornady three days ago, but I have not rec.'d a reply. I guess they are afraid to give me a load for liability purposes.

Good luck getting a response. I emailed them twice back in March. Still haven't heard from them.

And by the way. I concur with Varget suggestion. So far, it is the best powder with 165 grain bullets that I have found.

Hornady shows no loads with the powders you listed and the bullet weights you specified.

From the looks of the data, were I you, I would get some IMR 4064 or RL-15.

Born- I've shot several loads that are the stock Nosler Ballistic Tip loads with the 150 grain SST's in both my 300 WSM and 270 Win., with great results. I do prefer the NBT's and am real pleased with the accubond results I'm getting on paper so far, haven;t shot the accubond on game yet-- but I think if you use the load for an accubond with the interbond you should be pretty close. As someone else stated just start with a minimum load and work up and you should be good. I have had great results, paper and game, with the Hornady light magnum with SST's in 270 Win. just FYI. --Good Shooting--D.
