lawndartBuy a copy of the Norma reloading manual. They have been loading that round for nigh onto 100 years, and have it down pretty well.
Ladeboken, from Sweden or Norway, I cannot remember which has a nice section on that cartridge. I do not recall if either of the
Weiderladen manuals (RWS und Roland Zeitler) have data.

NakihunterI used to own a Hasqvarna M98 in this caliber & sold it after about 5 or 6 years. I now shoot a 9.3X62 Simson.
The IMR pwders were the old standard but they are less stable in variable temperature. Varget, N140 and Re15 would be my best recommendation.
The book loads of 2100 fps with 285 gr bullets is at very low pressure & can be increased to 2300 in your M96. If you plan to hunt deer etc, you may find the 232 gr Norma bullets at 2550 fps to be a better option.
Is your stock set up for open sights or scope? The old Huskys were notorious for a sharp & low comb and the recoil was uncomfortable & disproportionate to the round - only because of the poor stock.
