<Abe Normal>Enough so it doesnt fall out of the case and not so much so that it blows up the gun!
Seriously though, we need to know what caliber and bullet your intending to load.

onefunzr2Two general rules of thumb would be:
1. Seat the bottom of the bullet to the juncture of the case neck\shoulder.
2. Seat it at least the diameter of the bullet. Ie; a 7mm bullet would be seated to a depth of .284"

<toto>Sorry about that. I'm loading 7mm, 162gr hornady or 160 speer. I was thinking 300/thousands on my calipers. The reason for the question is I'm thinking of having the chamber rethroated if thats a word, where I can load my bullets fartheer out. The way it is now there is 700/thousands + in the case and 500/thousands + sticking out. I want to have it rethroated to fit. I hope this helps. Thanks. fws
