The 160 gr GS Customs is a long bullet for its weight inasmuch as its a monolithic, that will penetrate an elk stem to stern..at about 3200 Plus FPS in my 8mm/06 ACkley..

I use Sierra 200 gr. HPBT Match in my .325 WSM XP-100 handgun. Super accurate. Very deadly on whitetails, but probably no fit for elk size animals.

I bought a thousand of those bullets over 20 years ago for 10 cents each. I believe they were used to load the now defunct 8mm Rem Mag. I quickly learned they would shoot nice little cloverleafs out of my 8 x 57 K98k sporter. They are a deer hammer.
