North Fork
I have read a lot of references to North Fork bullets on this forum. A number of posters seem to think they are the best of the premium bullet designs available today. I have read their website carefully and know that they produce hunting bullets for reloaders. Occasionally someone will post that are buying ammunition with North Fork bullets. After a google search I could find only a few loads from Hawk and Dakota. Superior doesn't list them.
Are there any others? Is their any custom bullet manufacturer that has a comprehensive line for .300 Win Mag? I don't reload. Say 150, 165, 180, 200gr. I'd like to slow down the velocities for close-in game shots and less meat damage. Again, I don't reload.
A search on this website has not found a similar thread.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
What kind of "close in" game shots are you talking about??
I've shot game with both the Northfork and the Swift a frame. They perform alot alike terminally. They really don't bloodshot meat like conventional bullets because they aren't "coming apart" as they go through the animal. I'd suggest looking into getting some factory ammo in 180 or 200 grain in swift a frames or even trophy bonded. As a matter of fact you might want to do a search at MidwayUsa....I think they have the federal loadings on sale right now with trophy bonded.
here's a heck of a deal but they are a high energy loading....shoot em behind the shoulder and you won't have blood shot meat anyhow.....
you can't buy the components in these bullets this cheap even if you were a relaoder!!! (the bullets alone are worth about a buck a piece)

Helluvadeal there Kracky.....the trophy bonded bear claw is the equal of the North Fork IMO
Loaded 300 Magnums at $20 a box is a bargain for sure.
