<Martin BN>100 gr .257 GS-bullets
Hi,
I've been looking at both the HV and the HP bullet at the GS-custom website and wonder why the BC is higher for the 100gr HP (0.440) than the 100gr HV (0.400). When I just look at them I would think it should be the other way around. What would be the point in bying the more expensive HV.
The "minimum-muzzle-velocity" mmv for the HP is 3000 fps and 2800fps for the HV. Is this the reason for the higher BC? I know that BC changes with velocity.
Regards
Martin

HolmesI think you are correct, the difference is due to the velocities cited.
I just picked up a clean little M700 in 25.06 and will start working loads for it this weekend.
If you work with the GS bullets, please keep us posted on your findings.
Thanks.

AlstroI think there is a typo somewhere. If you look under reloading, you will see that they have a BC of .465. The tech page use to say .465 also before it was upgraded. If i was guessing, i would pick .465, but maybe gerard could answer for sure.

<BigBores>Hey, If you email Gerard directly off the website, I am sure he could clear it up for you. It might take him a couple of days to get back to you, but he will, and his answer will be very thourough.

GerardI am going to take down the tech data pages for a while to check them. With the rebuild of the website the tech data pages could not be copied and had to be retyped. Sorry about the hassle, we will sort it as quickly as possible. The correct BC for the HV bullet is 0.465 and the minimum MV is correct at 2800 as opposed to 3000 for the HP bullet. HVs are slightly softer than HPs in design and will expand from lower terminal speeds than HPs. I am way behind on e-mail due to patchy internet access the last ten days and time constraints before that, thanks for the patience with slow replies, apologies all round to those who think they are being ignored, I will get to it all in due course
