Do any of you guys load shotgun slugs? I have been loading a slug that will shoot 3" to 4" groups right along at an honest 100 yds. and that from a smooth bore.

I am not bragging, but I do think that is pretty good results for a smooth bore shotgun.

The load is the Dangerous Game slug available from Ballistic products www.ballisticproducts.com loaded over 34 Grs. of WW 540 in a primed 2-3/4" Cheddite case and roll crimped.

The gun is a Mossberg bolt action Turkey gun with the barrel cut to 19" to remove all choke and threads and a Redfield 1-3/4-5x scope installed.

Average velocity is around 1250 FPS and accuracy averages 4" at 100 yds. 3 shot groups.

I used to load slugs for a 20-gauge, haven't done it for awhile. Does anyone have a good rock-salt load for 20-gauge?
