Greyghost1895M 450 Marlin
For you lever gun fans. What kind of loads have you worked up on the 450? Other than some info I got from Hornady, when it first came out. I can't seem to find anything. None of the loading manuals list the 450, and I seem to have lost a link to a web site that posted some pretty interesting specs. Purchased 300 Kodiak 350 grainers to start, and have both once fired, and new Hornady cases. Would like to load 300 grain-450 grain eventually.

www.Hodgdon.com. Download their basic reloading manual in Adobe acrobat. They have loads for the 450 Marlin with 350 gr Hornady JFP and 400 gr Speer JFP.

GreyghostThe web site I was trying to find already had custom loads worked up for the 450 Marlin. But It's been quite awhile since I've seen it. Maybe if it ain't there now, the loads weren't safe. Any how the loads I'm interested in are:
300, 350, and 400 grain Kodiak bullets.
Hornady cases.
Federal 215M primers.
Hodgdon H4198, and Accurate XMP5744 powder.
Problem is these are using different componenants than those loads listed under the powder manufacturers listings.
How much difference can I expect from switching from a 350gr Hornady to a 350gr Kodiak? How much from switching from Winchester LR primer to the Federal 215M? Do I change one componenant at a time, or change all, start 10% low from a similar load and work up?
