Load Suggestions for new Varmint/Hunting rifle
Hi ALL

I have just got into reloading because I was getting tired of spending so much on ammo. The gun I have is in 300 Win Mag. 27" Shilen select match #7 light varmint contour.

I like the barnes 168, 180s. I shot them in factory loads with great results. Now I have been looking at these accelerators sabots for 30cal, allows loading of .224 bullets in my 300 cases. Has anyone tried these, with good or bad Frowner luck. I am open to suggestion

Thanks Everyone

I've never tried them. Had a buddy that tried then and his comment was more of a pattern than group. I never saw the target but I do know he stopped playing with them.

As usual just my $.02

A 300 Win Mag is not my opinion of a varmint rifle. I dont know the price of sabot bullets, but I'd suspect buying a varmint rifle would be cheaper in the end(you shoot enough you started reloading)and you would probably be happier with it.

Here in Alabama there are several Varmits that I have used my 300 Mag for, Bever and Dogs. I favor the Nosler 125 Gr BT with 73.0 Gr of IMR 4350. It makes a nice crimson splater and body parts all over the place.
