WyFLyGuyBallistic Table Info
Hey all! I'm new to the forum and first want to say thanks for the outstanding source of information.
I am also new to reloading. I recently acquired a new rifle in the .270 Winchester caliber. I noticed as I looked through the ballistic tables in a Nosler reloading guide that all of the info for the .270 assumes a 24" barrel. My barrel is only 22". How much of a difference will this make in the ballistics (speed, trajectory, etc.)? Anybody have any experience with this?
Thanks in advance for any/all help.

NordicRead about the .223r in the reloading pages.
Or about 3m\s per centimeter barrel.

StonecreekIt will vary a little with the particular barrel and load. Think in terms of about 50 fps for the two inch difference, but remember that a "fast" 22" barrel will yield more velocity than a "slow" 24" barrel. In practical terms, you get a little more muzzle blast and a little less velocity from the shorter barrel. The deer will be unable to testify as to the difference, however. Neither will you be able detect a measurable difference in trajectory.

WyFLyGuyThanks for the help guys. I figured that it would be something slight like that.
