bartscheThee 7000 fps. 22 rifle bullet

At the range Wed. my first shoot from my 22 PPC 34 grain hp Blinked over 7000 fps. I hit the reset button on my Oehler and shot again ;6934 fps. I pushed all the contacts in to make sure they were making contact. The third shot blinked over 7000 fps. Indeed I was making history or flipped my mucket!!

Well when I checked my connections I found that I had reversed the white and green. Correction made the next shot measured 3827 fps. Problem solved, but not really I'm still getting older and it ain't that EZ all the time.

I use a Chrony. It is amazing what not getting it open all the way will do to your results.

analog_peninsulaYou should change the connectors back. Who would want a cartridge that pushes a bullet to 3800 fps when he could push that same bullet to 7000 fps?

StonecreekJust cut your screen spacing in half on your Oehler. It will do wonders for your velocities.
Must be some wildcat. 505/22?

Joe from So. Cal.I was reading a story in the AR about the 30-378 Weatherby. Details are hazy but I think it said the military was experimenting with 60 grain zinc bullets and getting 6000 fps. Sounds like fun.
And there's Ross Seyfried shooting 18 grainers through a .17 Remington...
