I load almost exclusively bottle-necked rifle cartridges and was wondering which would clean up my cases faster. I've used a medium-sized vibratory unit in the past, but it takes a long time, and the capacity is not great for magnum cases. Also wondering about media. I'll be loading everything from 17 Remington to 416 Rigby.

In my experience the vibratory tumblers work faster.
If volume is a problem you can buy a larger unit. Lyman's 2500 pro magnum will handle several hundred 223 cases.
You can also add some jeweler's pin media to speed up the process. Get the smaller diameter pins.

I'm never in a hurry with tumbling but - there is a reason viberators have come to dominate the reloading market.

Vibratory is faster in my experience.

I found cheap media in the Wal-Mart pet aisle and at Pet-Smart cleverly concealed as crushed walnut shell bird bedding. I buy it in 25 pound bags and change it when ever it takes more than over night to get a vibrator full of brass clean. I'm currently using Dillon polish, but I've tried several including some house brands and all of those intended for reloading use work about the same.
