GAHUNTERMusing about loading for short-action rifles
I just ordered a Hornady Lock-n-load altered case for my new .358 Winchester. In fact, I've got one for just about every caliber I load for, which is around 20. It's funny that I do this because I've never had a short-action bolt action rifle where the OAL determination was dictated by anything other than the length of the magazine!
I am confident that this will hold true for my .358. (Just the little bit of work I've done with it so far bears this out.)
I guess I'm one who would rather be safe than sorry and record the exact maximum OAL for every bullet I shoot in my reloading book.
