400 gr bullet for the .405 Win
Just watched the Tracks Across Africa issue in which Boddington's daughter shot a buff with a .405 win in a Ruger #1. They used special loads from Hornady with 400 gr bullets. Can these bullets be had?

check barnes, they use to have them, 300 350 and 400 gr.

Barnes only offers the .411" 300gr XFB now, the 350gr XFB was discontinued, but they still have some in their closeouts.

Woodleigh makes .411/400. John Barsness had an article a few years ago in Rifle or Handloader about loading up the 405 W to 450-400 velocities in a Ruger #1. Bob

the add i was lookin at was a barnes banded solid in 400gr .410 it said they were NEW?

The .410" banded solid is for use in the .450/400.

will be the same 400 grain Premium solid bullets sold to reloaders and used in .450/400 NE factory loads

What about the 1895 Winchester? Will it tolerate a loading pushing a 400 gr bullet 2400 fps?
