ted thornSeating depth for better accuracy
Let's say you have the pressure worked up to a spot your happy with amd your at maximum length for your mag box.
Your shooting 1.5" groups and wouldn't mind tweaking a bit.
At what intervals do you change seating depth on a hunting rifle load?
I'm thinking .020 but thought I would ask
IMO you can see a difference at .010" but I usually change .015" at a time.
Your .020" may be better cause you can cover a wider range
Be sure and keep track of your velocities for calculating the extreme spread and standard deviation. If there is a seating depth that has the lowest of these 2, even though it may not have the best group, you should fine tune around that seating depth

SnellstromTed I sent you an article by e-mail from Berger bullets that recommends .040 intervals.
.010 off the lands .050 off the lands .090, .130 etc.
